About Me:

Mario D. Baquedano-Aguilar was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras in 1988. He received the industrial electrical engineer diploma from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras (UNAH) in 2013, and in 2014, he was awarded with a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD, by the acronym in German) for pursuing a M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering at the Institute of Electrical Energy-Universidad Nacional de San Juan, Argentina. 

In January 2019, he was awarded with a scholarship from The Fulbright Committee for pursuing doctoral studies in electrical engineering at The University of Florida. During his first two years he worked at The UF Power Lab under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Arturo Bretas, and currently, he is working at The Laboratory for Cognition & Control in Complex Systems (CCC) under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Sean Meyn in the fields of: Control & stability in low-inertia power systems; and Optimization.

Mario Baquedano has a huge volunteering experience. At the UF Electrical & Computer Engineering Department, he is currently serving as the Vice President of Hispanics in ECE (HECE)- a students organization; In IEEE, he has been an active volunteer since 2011.

  • Directing meetings with team chairs to assure proper plan executions

  • Power system dynamic and stability analysis

  • Large-scale and distributed renewable energy integration
